Comments:

THUNDER was designed and custom built by Vic Carpenter of Superior Sailboats in 1971 to High Quality Standards - using the Best of Materials. She was purchased by Larry Ketten of Van Dam Marine in 1986 and was given very complete re-fit. The boat was stripped of all Hardware and Fittings, the Ballast Keel was dropped, and she was taken down to bare wood inside and out for complete refinishing, up-grading and other significant improvements. A new Westerbeke 13W Diesel was installed and much new Hardware and Equipment. All work was done by Larry to very high standards. The present Owner purchased THUNDER from Larry and has found her to be an Excellent Sailer - Stiff in a blow, yet performs beautifully in light airs - easy and fun to handle. For her size, the accommodations are spacious - both below as well as on deck. The present Owner has maintained THUNDER in Impeccable condition - he is without doubt the most fastidious boat owner that I know (!) Because of circumstances, the boat has been used only 2 partial seasons since her refit in 1986 and has been always stored inside, yet her maintenance has been attended to in every detail. We believe THUNDER to be in essentially as new condition throughout; she being offered for sale only because of her owner being unable to use the boat at this time. Please call Bill Page for additional information or to arrange an inspection.
